I have long used my camera to capture images that induce reflection – many times about our environment, sometimes about photography itself. Many landscape images seek to highlight human influences on the natural world. Other images fragment and recombine scenes from our surroundings, inviting viewers to reflect deeply on the poetry in the elements of the extracted image, and even to consider what photography can accomplish beyond mere representation.
I work in monochrome to exploit shape, line and texture, finishing the work with very high-quality prints on premium paper, to produce beautiful, tangible objects.
